Defenceman Carl Gunnarsson has re-signed with the Toronto Maple Leafs in a 3-year deal worth $9.45m.
The 26-year-old Swede had filed for arbitration on July 10. Instead, the Leafs came to terms with Gunnarsson, who tallied a goal and 14 assists in 37 games last season.
Fellow defenceman Mark Fraser, who filed along with Gunnarsson, is yet to sign a deal.
The pair filed on the same day the Leafs signed young forward Joe Colborne to a one-year deal worth $600,000 (US).
This offseason the Leafs have re-signed centre Tyler Bozak and signed free agent David Clarkson, whilst buying out the contracts of Mike Komisarek and Mikhail Grabovski.
Veteran Mike Zigomanis has left the organisation whilst tough guys Colton Orr and Frazer McLaren have both signed new deals.
